How It Works

The course is split into three main modules covering three months. You will need to purchase a sewing pattern of your choice, materials, notions and have access to a sewing machine.

In the first module, we’ll focus on sewing from a commercial pattern. You’ll learn how to read and understand pattern instructions, and construct a garment step by step. This module is all about improving accuracy, technique, and confidence when following a pattern.

The second module is all about upcycling. Here, you’ll be working with existing garments or textiles and transforming them into something new. Using creative problem-solving to give old clothing a new life.

In the final module, you’ll design and make a garment using a self-drafted pattern. You’ll learn how to draft a pattern based on measurements and then construct a finished garment that reflects your own ideas and style.

By the end of Level 2 Sew It, you’ll have a small portfolio of work and the confidence to continue sewing beyond the course.
